Poetry In Strange Places
BReach
In Breach: a site specific bedroom art performance viewed from the window, two figures’ move in opposition and unison, passive innocence, and manic aggression. Violence often falls to furniture in the room in reference but in absence of the figure. Influenced by BodyCartography’s space-based and improvisational dance film, the performers explore the bedroom, unsettling a place of sanctuary while the audience’s voyeurism mirrors this invasion of privacy and intimacy.
Performers Katy Daiber and Ali Massinople are fine art students at Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio US. Cinematographer, Heather Taylor, is a CCAD alum. This piece was performed on December 4th, 2016 in Katy’s studio apartment as final project for her sophomore integrated studio class.
